Saunas

Our sauna range runs from full-spectrum infrared cabins to outdoor barrel and cube saunas, plus electric and Harvia heaters. Not sure where to start? Infrared cabins plug into a normal socket and warm the body directly. Traditional heated saunas need a wired heater and give you that steam-and-stones ritual. Every order ships free across mainland UK.

A sauna at home turns recovery into a daily habit. This page brings every type together in one place. Pick by how you want the heat, where the unit will sit, and how many people will use it.

Infrared or traditional heated?

Infrared cabins warm your body directly with carbon and ceramic panels. They run at 55-60°C and plug into a standard 13A socket. Traditional saunas heat the air with a stone-topped electric heater. They reach 90-110°C and you pour water over the stones for steam. Infrared suits gentle, frequent sessions. Our infrared saunas cover one to four people.

Indoor or outdoor?

Indoor options include the infrared cabins, the sauna blanket and the portable tent. Outdoor saunas come in two shapes. Barrel saunas heat fast, because curved walls move hot air around the cabin. Cube saunas use flat walls, so benches reach the edges and seat more people in the same footprint.

Choosing a sauna heater

Traditional and outdoor saunas need a heater matched to the room size. A 4.5kW unit heats 3-6 cubic metres. A 6kW unit covers 6-9. An 8kW unit handles 9-14. Harvia's Finnish-made heaters mount low, so warmth reaches the lower benches too. See all our sauna heaters. Every heater needs a qualified electrician.

Common questions

What is the difference between infrared and a traditional sauna?

Infrared heats your body directly; traditional saunas heat the air. Infrared runs at 55-60°C from a standard socket, so it feels gentler. Traditional cabins reach 90-110°C using a stone-topped heater, with water for steam.

Do I need a special power supply?

Infrared cabins and the sauna tent use a normal 13A socket. Traditional and outdoor saunas need a wired heater fitted by a qualified electrician to Part P. Larger heaters may need a dedicated circuit.

Can an outdoor sauna stay out all year?

Yes, our barrel and cube saunas are built for year-round outdoor use. They use solid spruce walls and a waterproof roof. Stand them on a level base of slabs, concrete or decking.

How long does a sauna take to heat up?

Most reach temperature in 30 to 60 minutes. Barrel saunas warm fastest, thanks to their curved walls. Infrared cabins feel warm within minutes, because the panels heat you, not the room.
