A cube sauna is a square outdoor cabin with flat walls and full standing height. The shape puts benches right to the edges, so a cube seats more people than a barrel of the same footprint. Both models here use solid spruce, an 8mm tempered glass front and a concealed waterproof roof membrane.
Standing headroom you can use
The internal height reaches 1970mm in both cubes. Most adults can stand upright to pour water or move between the benches. A barrel curves in at the top, so headroom drops away from the centre. A cube keeps full height right across the cabin. That makes it easier to move around during a session.
Square footprint versus a barrel
Flat walls are the advantage. Benches sit against straight sides rather than a curve, so no space is wasted. A square cabin fits more seating into a similar footprint. The roof hides a waterproof membrane under timber slats, with no felt or asphalt on show. The lines stay clean against a modern garden.
Choosing a size
Match the cube to your group. The 3-4 person cube measures 2000mm by 1800mm and runs a 6kW heater. The 5-6 person cube steps up to 2500mm by 2300mm with an 8kW heater for the larger volume. Both stand on a level base of slabs, concrete or decking.
